Tulsa Volleyball Continues Conference Play Traveling to USF and UCF

WEEKLY GAME NOTES

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team (8-10, 3-3 American) continues American Athletic Conference play this weekend when they travel to the state of Florida for two matches. The Golden Hurricane faces USF on Friday, Oct. 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the Corral Gymnasium in Tampa, and takes on UCF Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1:00 p.m. at The Venue in Orlando.

USF (6-12, 3-3 American) comes into the match after splitting their conference matches last weekend, defeating Memphis but falling to Cincinnati. The UCF Knights (9-9, 3-3 American) split their conference matches last weekend as well, defeating Memphis and losing to Cincinnati. Tulsa is led by, junior outside hitter Erica Bohannon, who averages 3.81 kills per set, and senior middle blocker Ashley Hooper, who averages 2.72 kills per set and .329 attacking percentage. Junior libero Brooke Berryhill averages 5.08 digs preset and 0.28 service aces per set, and sophomore setter Sophie Bethke averages 10.35 assists per set and 2.31 digs per set.

When Tulsa faces USF Friday it will be the third match-up in program history. Last season, the Hurricane last its home match against the Bulls, 3-1, but won, 3-0, in the match at South Florida.

Sunday's match against UCF will mark the 14^th meeting in program history. Tulsa leads the series at 10-3. Last season, the Hurricane lost its home match against the Knights, 3-1, but it won, 3-2, in the match at UCF.
