Tulsa Women’s Tennis Team Travels to Stillwater to Compete in ITA Women’s Central Region Championship

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis team traveled to Stillwater, Okla. to compete in the ITA Women's Central Region Championship at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center. The qualifying singles draw and doubles main draw began today, Oct. 15, and singles main draw play is set to begin Friday, Oct. 16. There will be 23 different schools and more than 130 student-athletes participating in the tournament.
Junior Mahitha Dadireddy and sophomore Ksnenia Laskutova posted a 2-0 record in the doubles main draw advancing to the third round to take on Cassidy Spearman and Brittany Lashway of Missouri Friday, Oct. 16. Junior Rongrong Leenabanchong and freshman Martha Matoula registered a 2-0 record in the doubles main draw advancing to the third round to face Brianna Lashway and Clare Raley of Missouri Friday, Oct. 16. Senior Renata Kuricova and junior Marcelina Cichon were eliminated from the doubles main draw by Kelli Hine and Bea Santos of Missouri.
The Golden Hurricane entered the singles main draw strong as Kuricova, Cichon, Dadireddy, Matoula, Laskutova, and Leenabanchong won their first round matches advancing to the second round. In addition, senior Saana Saarteinen lost her first round match.
