THE STORYLINES . . .
•  Tulsa football is under new direction as Philip Montgomery was named the 29th head coach in school history on December 11, 2014.
•  Tulsa has the smallest undergraduate enrollment of FBS schools with 3,473 students.
•  Memphis comes into the game with a national ranking of #17/18 this week . . . it's the second ranked foe that Tulsa will face this year, #16 Oklahoma was the first.
•  Tulsa reached three wins in its first 5 games, bettering last year's win total of two wins for the season.
•  Tulsa ranks second in passing offense in the American Athletic Conference with 354.5 yards per game and also second in total offense at 550.5 yards . . . the Hurricane is 6th for total offense nationally and 9th for passing offense.
•  Quarterback Dane Evans moved into 4th place on the school's career passing chart with 6,127 career yards.
•  Senior safety Michael Mudoh is one of only 16 players in school history to reach 300 career tackles . . . Mudoh's career total of 343 tackles has come in 44 games for a 7.8 average per game . . . he ranks 8th on the school's all-time tackles list.
•  The Hurricane has two receivers – Keyarris Garrett and Josh Atkinson – with at least three 100-yard receiving games each within Tulsa's first six contests this season . . . Atkinson has five straight 100-yard games and Garrett has had three  100+ receiving games.
•  Tulsa went the first seven quarters this year without a takeaway, Tulsa then had four takeaways in the next three quarters . . . Tulsa has nine takeaways in the last 17 quarters of play, including six fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
•     Tulsa has had 15 of its' 23 touchdown drives in regulation come under two minutes . . . 10 Tulsa TD drives have been under one minute.
 
THE SERIES . . .
•    This is the 26th meeting between Tulsa and Memphis.
•    Memphis leads the series 15-10.
•    Memphis snapped a four-game losing streak against the Hurricane last year with a 40-20 victory.
•    Tulsa won those previous four games by a 17.8 margin, despite two of those games going into overtime.
•    Memphis leads the series in Tulsa, 8-6, but has lost the last two meetings in Tulsa.
•    The last two games played in Tulsa went to overtime and both games were won by Tulsa, including 37-31 in 2005 and 33-30 in 2009.
 
EVANS MOVING UP ON PASSING CHARTS . . .
•    Quarterback Dane Evans is in his fourth year, but just his third in a playing
     capacity . . . Evans red-shirted in the 2012 season, played in 2013 and then started all 12 games in 2014.
•    Evans now has thrown for 6,127 career yards, moving into 4th place on the school's career passing chart.
•    His 38 passing touchdowns is also the sixth most for a Tulsa quarterback . . . he trails Jerry Rhome (1963-64) for fifth place by four TD passes.
•    Evans has 6,230 total offense yards to rank fifth on the school's career list, needing 28 more yards to move into fourth place.
•    Evans had his third career 400+ passing game against #16 Oklahoma with 427 yards and four touchdowns . . . that was his second 400+ game this season as Evans threw for 424 yards and two TDs in the season opener against FAU.
•    With five 300+ passing games this year, Evans now has eight career 300+ passing games, which is the third most in school history behind Paul Smith's 15 and G.J. Kinne's 14.
•    In 2014, Evans became the 20th quarterback in school history to throw for over 2,000 yards in a single season, and it was just the sixth time that a player has thrown for over 3,000 yards in a season.
•    This year, Evans has surpassed the 2,000-yard passing plateau for the second straight season.
•    He is now one of just five quarterbacks in school history to surpass 2,000+ yards in at least two consecutive seasons . . . the others are: T.J. Rubley (3), James Kilian (2), Paul Smith (3) and G.J. Kinne (3).
 
MUDOH RANKED SECON IN NATION FOR TACKLES . . .
•    Senior safety Michael Mudoh's 72 tackles this year for a 12.0 average through six games ranks second in the nation.
•    Mudoh now has 343 career tackles ties for eighth place on the school's all-time tackles chart . . . he needs nine more stops to tie for seventh place.
•    Mudoh had a career-high 20 tackles in the opener vs. FAU, which ties for the second-best game in the NCAA this year for tackles.
•    It's the third straight season opener that he had double-figure tackles . . . his previous career-best was 17 stops coming in the 2013 opener vs. Bowling Green, and last year had 10 tackles against Tulane.
•    Mudoh totaled more team-highs with 16 stops at Oklahoma, 11 tackles against ULM and 12 stops at East Carolina
•    Mudoh has 18 double-figure tackle games in 30 career starts . . . he has four double-digit tackle games this year.
 
GARRETT IS TOP TARGET . . .
•    Senior Keyarris Garrett has a team-leading 698 receiving yards on 45 receptions.
•    He ranks ninth in the nation for receiving yards per game (116.3) and 12th for receiving yards (698) this year.
•    Garrett has had three 100+ receiving games this year . . . he caught five passes for 163 yards in the season opener vs. FAU.
•    Garrett went over 100 yards in Tulsa's next two games as well, with 102 yards on seven catches vs. New Mexico and 189 yards and one TD on 14 receptions against #16 Oklahoma.
•    In 38 career games, Garrett has 2,319 yards, 16 TDs and a 13.8-yard average on 168 career receptions . . . his yardage is the 12th-most in school history.
 
ATKINSON RACKING UP THE YARDS . . .
•    Junior receiver Josh Atkinson has enjoyed a productive season for the Hurricane, and now with the absence of Keevan Lucas has taken a more significant role in the offense.
•    He ranks second on the team with 576 yards on 36 catches for 96.0 yards per game and 16.0 yards per catch.
•    Atkinson is on a streak of five straight 100+ receiving games, the longest consecutive streak since Chris Penn's six in 1993.
•    He did not have a catch in Tulsa's season opener, but since then has averaged 115.2 yards in the last five games.
•    Atkinson had his first career 100-yard receiving game with 119 yards on three receptions against New Mexico, including a 69-yard TD, which was his first catch of the season.
•    He followed that up with his second 100+ game when he caught 10 passes for 104 yards and one touchdown against Oklahoma.
•    Atkinson had his third 100+ receiving game of the season and his career with 107 yards on six receptions against Houston.
•    Last week, Atkinson had a career-best 136 yards on eight catches at East Carolina . . . a week before, he had a team-leading nine receptions for 110 yards vs. ULM.
•    Atkinson has totals of 1,101 yards and three touchdowns in 27 career games.
