Tulsa Volleyball Plays Host to Dig Pink Match Against UConn Friday at 7 p.m.

TULSA, Okla. –
The University of Tulsa volleyball team plays host to the annual Dig Pink Match, where the Golden Hurricane will wear pink jerseys to generate awareness for breast cancer, against UConn at the Donald W. Reynolds Center Friday at 7 p.m.
 
During Friday's Dig Pink Match there will be volleyball items raffled off, and people will be able to make donations. All the proceeds will benefit Oklahoma Project Woman, which is a statewide comprehensive program fighting breast cancer. The team will also have a video supporting the survivors of breast cancer as well as the medical professionals who aid in the fight.
 
The Hurricane (7-9, 2-2 American) played their first home conference match Friday, when it defeated East Carolina, 3-2. The Huskies (7-8, 1-3 American) split their conference matches last weekend, defeating Cincinnati and falling to Memphis.  Live video and live stats for the match will be available at www.TulsaHurricane.com
 
Tulsa is led by, junior outside hitter Erica Bohannon, who averages 3.91 kills per set, and senior middle blocker Ashley Hooper, who averages 2.68 kills per set and .320 attacking percentage. Junior libero Brooke Berryhill averages 4.94 digs preset and 0.31 service aces per set, and sophomore setter Sophie Bethke averages 10.55 assists per set and 2.34 digs per set. Junior outside hitter Rebecca Reeve averages 2.85 kills per set and 2.89 digs per set, while junior outside hitter Trinity Alualu averages 0.58 kills per set and 2.09 digs per set. TU averages 12.55 kills per set, a .193 hitting percentage per set, 16.02 digs per set, 11.71 assists per set, 1.49 blocks per set, and 1.45 service aces per set.
 
When Tulsa faces UConn Friday it will be the third match-up in program history. The Hurricane won both match-ups in 2014, 3-0 in both Tulsa and Mansfield.
