THE STORYLINES . . .
•  Tulsa football is under new direction as Philip Montgomery was named the 29th head coach in school history on December 11, 2014.
•  Tulsa has the smallest undergraduate enrollment of FBS schools with 3,473 students . . . Cincinnati lists its enrollment as 44,251.
•  Tulsa equaled its last two-year win total (5) with a current 5-4 record this year.
•  This game features two of the nation's top offenses . . . Cincinnati ranks 5th nationally with 578.2 yards per game, while Tulsa is ranked 12th with a 520.1-yard average.
•  The American Athletic Conference is the second league that the two schools have been members of at the same time . . . the other was the Missouri Valley Conference.
•  Tulsa and Cincinnati rank among the American Athletic Conference's top-4 teams for scoring, passing and total offense.
•  Senior receiver Keyarris Garrett set an American Athletic Conference record and an NCAA season-best in Tulsa's seventh game with 268 yards and 3 TDs on 14 receptions vs. #17 Memphis.
•  Tulsa junior linebackers Matt Linscott and Trent Martin lead the American Athletic Conference in tackles for lost yards . . . Linscott has 14.5 and Martin has 13.5 TFLs.
•  Senior safety Michael Mudoh leads the conference in tackles with 100 stops.
•  Tulsa has had 25 of its 38 offensive touchdown drives in regulation that have come under two minutes for a .658 percentage to rank first in the nation . . . 15 Tulsa TD drives have been under one minute this year.
•    Tulsa 's defense has totaled 16 takeaways this year after going the first seven quarters of the season without forcing a turnover.
 
THE SERIES . . .
•    This is the 32nd meeting between Tulsa and Cincinnati, but the first time the two teams have played since 1997.
•    Tulsa leads the overall series 16-13-2 and is 6-9 against the Bearcats in Cincinnati.
•    Cincinnati has won the last four meetings with Tulsa, two in Tulsa and two in Cincinnati . . . the last four Cinci wins have been by a margin of 12.5 points.
•    Tulsa last won in the series in 1980 by a score of 31-13.
•    The American Athletic Conference is the second league that the two schools have been members in together . . . Tulsa and Cincinnati were members in the Missouri Valley Conference from 1957-1969.
•    Tulsa had a 10-3 record against Cincinnati in Missouri Valley play, winning the first game as league members in 1957, 12-7.

•    Tulsa has faced three of the nation's top-10 offenses, based on total offense, already this season –– No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 7 Memphis and No. 10 Houston.
•    This week the No. 5-ranked offense in the country hosts the Golden Hurricane as Cincinnati averages 578 yards per game.
•    Tulsa also brings in one of the top offenses, now ranked 12th nationally, with an average of 520.1 yards per game.
•    In Tulsa's games against those top-10 ranked offenses, the two teams have combined for over 1,000 yards in each game –– vs. Oklahoma, the two teams combined for 1,376 yards . . . Tulsa and Houston combined for 1,094 yards . . .  vs. Memphis, the two teams combined for 1,238 yards
•    In those games combined, the teams combined for 3,708 yards and 260 points.
 
LOSSES HAVE COME TO TOP FOES . . .
•    Three of Tulsa's four losses have come against teams that have been ranked among the nation's top-25 this year – #12 Oklahoma, #16 Houston and #25 Memphis . . . Oklahoma was ranked #16 when Tulsa faced the Sooners, Houston was unranked and Memphis was #17 . . . East Carolina is Tulsa's other loss.
•    The combined record of those teams that have defeated Tulsa is 29-8 this season –– Oklahoma (8-1), Houston (9-0), Memphis (8-1), East Carolina (4-6).
 
STAFFORD, LUETJEN EARN ACADEMIC HONORS . . .
•    Seniors Garrett Stafford and Derrick Luetjen were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 team . . . they are now eligible for All-America honors.
•    Stafford had a 3.7 GPA in electrical engineering and graduated in 3.5 years, and has  a 3.5 GPA as a graduate student in electrical engineering.
*   Luetjen has a 3.62 GPA in exercise & sports science.
