TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa men's basketball team opens the 2015-16 season Saturday when it plays host to Central Arkansas at 4 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
 
The Golden Hurricane begins its second season under head coach Frank Haith, and returns all five starters from last year. TU has nine seniors on its roster, and welcomed four newcomers to the squad this season. The Bears also begin their second season under head coach Russ Pennell.

Quick Hits
•  Tulsa is 66-38 all-time in season openers, and 49-18 in season openers at home.
•  Tulsa will play this season with nine seniors – the most seniors on one roster in the country.
•  The Hurricane returns 97 percent of its scoring and 98 percent of its minutes to the team in 2015-16 – one of only five schools in the country to return at least 90 percent of its scoring and minutes this year.
•  Tulsa returned 11 letterwinners and all five starters to the squad this year.
•  The Golden Hurricane begins its second season as a member of the American Athletic Conference.
•  Tulsa is in its second year season under the direction of head coach Frank Haith . . . in his first season, the Hurricane posted a 23-11 overall record and a 14-4 conference record . . . •  Tulsa went 2-0 in its preseason exhibition games, defeating Haskell Indian Nations, 87-62, and Rogers State, 66-56 . . . James Woodard led the Golden Hurricane with 41 combined points, scoring 20 points against Haskell, and 21 points against Rogers State.
•  Harrison needs two points to reach the 1,000-point milestone
•  James Woodard was a first-team Preseason All-American Athletic Conference, and Harrison was a second-team preseason all-conference selection.
•  Woodard ranks 13th in TU career scoring with 1,404 points, and sixth with 184 career 3-pointers.
•  Harrison ranks fifth at TU in career steals with 184 steals, and eighth with 329 career assists.
•  Brandon Swannegan has 118 career blocks, ranking tied for fifth in TU career history.
 
The Series
This is the second meeting between Tulsa and Central Arkansas . . . Tulsa leads the series, 1-0 . . . the Golden Hurricane won the only meeting between the schools, 66-53, on Dec. 9, 2007 in Tulsa.
