Ashley Clark tied her career high of 26 points, while two others scored in double figures to lead Tulsa to a 74-63 win over Little Rock on Sunday afternoon at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Ark. TU moved to 3-7 on the season, while LR fell to 2-5 overall.
"Ashley Clark set the tone from the very beginning," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said. "She attacked the basket well, didn't try to force things and took what the defense gave her. I couldn't be more proud of how she played tonight. "
"We played together as a team really well,' Mossman added. "It didn't matter who we put in the game, we executed well and communicated well defensively, and we did it for an entire 40 minutes. When we got the lead we knew they would stage a comeback, but we did a good job of holding them off. We never panicked, and I felt our kids stayed true with the game plan."
Teanna Reid added 18 points, while Erika Wakefield tallied 13 points and a team-best four steals. Clark and Tyjae' Scales both had a team-high six rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane had a 30-26 edge in rebounds and a 7-5 lead in steals, while LR had a 13-11 lead in assists and a 4-1 advantage in blocks.

Little Rock came out hot in the third quarter, hitting all five of their first five attempts, including two three-pointers, which they didn't hit in the first half. The Trojans did outscore Tulsa in the third frame, 21-20, but TU took a 58-44 lead with just the final 10 minutes to play.
In the final frame, Little Rock scored the first eight points to cut Tulsa's lead to six, 58-52, at the 7:45 mark, but the Hurricane climbed to double digits again, 64-54, with 5:23 to go. The Trojans outscored TU, 19-16, in the final 10 minutes, but Tulsa held onto their double-digit advantage and claimed the 11-point victory.
Tulsa jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 7:09 on the clock and had a 14-4 advantage at the 5:11 mark after hitting their first six-of-seven attempts from the field for 85-percent shooting. At the end of the first break, TU had a 17-9 lead, while Clark scored nine points in the first frame.
In the second quarter, TU was called for four fouls in less than three minutes, giving the Trojans five uncontested points that allowed them to cut their deficit to three-points, 21-18, at the 6:14 mark. The Golden Hurricane, however, battled back and outscored them 17-5 to close out the half, including a three-pointer by Wakefield at the buzzer to take a 15-point lead into the break, 38-23.
TU shot 57-percent from the field, including 40-percent from three-point range, and hit 6-of-9 free throw attempts for 66-percent, while LR shot 33-percent from the field, including 0-for-5 from behind the arc, and were 75-percent (9-of-12) from the charity stripe in the first half.
