Get To Know: Volleyball Newcomers Emily Thorson & Rachel Moore

Tulsa volleyball fans will have the opportunity to get to know the Golden Hurricane newcomers during the preseason through a series of video interviews.
Today, freshmen outside hitters Emily Thorson and Rachel Moore take the spot light. Thorson graduated from College Park High School in The Woodlands, Texas, and Moore graduated from Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Thorson, who hails from Texas, was a four-year letterwinner at College Park High School accumulating over 1,300 kills and 1,200 digs in her career. She received first-team all-county accolades as a junior, and earned first-team all-district honors for three seasons. Thorson's most memorable placed visited is Spain.
Moore, a native of Oklahoma, was a four-year letterwinner at Heritage Hall High School. She helped lead her team to the Class 5A state title as a junior and senior, and was on teams as a freshman and sophomore that were state runners-up. Moore's most memorable place visited is Costa Rica.
The Golden Hurricane opens the season Aug. 28 in Lincoln, Neb. against three-time national champion Nebraska Cornhuskers, as part of the Nebraska Invitational.
