Tulsa Volleyball To Hold Tulsa Invitational Friday and Saturday

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team competes at home again this weekend when it plays host to the Tulsa Invitational, featuring Oral Roberts, Houston Baptist, and North Texas at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tulsa comes into the weekend with a 3-6 record.
The Golden Hurricane faces Oral Roberts Friday at 6 p.m. in a match to be played at the ORU Cooper Aerobics Center. On Saturday, Tulsa returns to the Reynolds Center to face Houston Baptist at 11 a.m., and the Hurricane closes the tournament against North Texas at 7 p.m. Houston Baptist and North Texas are set to play Friday at 6 p.m. at the Reynolds Center. On Saturday, North Texas faces Oral Roberts at 1 p.m., and ORU and Houston Baptist play at 5 p.m.

In three matches last weekend in the Hurricane Classic, junior outside hitter Erica Bohannon totaled 48 kills, junior libero Brooke Berryhill led the way defensively with 68 digs, and senior middle blocker Ashley Hooper tallied 43 kills in the tournament. Junior outside hitter Rebecca Reeve recorded 33 kills and 39 digs as well.
When Tulsa faces ORU this weekend it will be the 77th match up in program history, as Tulsa has won eight of the last nine matches. The matchup between TU and Houston Baptist will be the third match in school history, and Tulsa leads the series 2-0. The final match of the Tulsa Invitational between TU and North Texas will mark the 20th time the schools played, and Tulsa is ahead in the series 14-5.
