
Tulsa Women Golfers Open Season at The Schooner Fall Classic

The University of Tulsa women's golf team begins the 2015-16 season this weekend at the third annual Schooner Fall Classic. The 54-hole event takes place from Saturday-Monday, Sept. 18-21, at the Belmar Golf Club.
Tulsa tees off at 9:00 a.m. for their first round of the season Saturday morning.
The teams participating in 12-team field include host Oklahoma, Florida State, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas State, Troy, Tulsa and UTSA.
The Hurricane will field a young squad for the season-opening tournament with three freshmen, along with one junior and one senior. The trio of freshmen playing in their first collegiate tournament includes Mackenzie Medders, from Jenks (Okla.) High School, Brydie Hodge from New Zealand and Johanna Samuelsson from Sweden.
Alex Haun, a senior from Chandler Arizona, and another local product, junior Nadia Majidizadeh from Tulsa's Union High School, round out the roster for the Hurricane. Majidizadeh has a career 77.2 stroke average and has placed among the top-15 in three of 14 career tournaments. Haun has two top-10 performances in her two seasons at Tulsa after transferring from Mesa Community College.
