Tulsa Volleyball Continues Conference Play Traveling to SMU

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team continues American Athletic Conference play this week with midweek match in Dallas, Texas where the Golden Hurricane takes on SMU at the Moody Coliseum Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.
Tulsa opened the conference portion of their schedule last weekend traveling to New Orleans and Houston. The Hurricane went 1-1 on the weekend defeating Houston, 3-2, and falling to Tulane, 3-2.
Junior outside hitters Rebecca Reeve and Erica Bohannon posted 40 and 39 kills last weekend, respectively. Senior middle blocker Ashley Hooper led the Hurricane hitters with a .314 attack percentage on 51 attacks. Hooper had an impressive .481 hitting percentage against conference rival Tulane. In addition, junior libero Brooke Berryhill totaled 47 digs and junior outside hitter Trinity Alualu delivered six service aces.
When Tulsa faces SMU Wednesday it will be the 39th match-up in program history, with TU trailing the series 20-18. The teams split the matchups in 2014, with the Hurricane winning 3-1 in Tulsa, and the Mustangs winning 3-1 in Dallas. TU has won 14 of the last 19 matchups since 2005. The Hurricane last won in Dallas, 3-0, in 2012, and has won six of the last eight meeting in Dallas, dating back to 2006.
