Keyarris Garrett Represents Tulsa in East-West Shrine Game this Saturday

The NCAA's leader for receiving yards, Keyarris Garrett, will play in the East-West Shrine All-Star Game, scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, January 23, 3:00 p.m. (CT), at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game will be aired on the NFL Network. Garrett is on the West Team Roster that will be coached by June Jones.
The Tulsa senior caught 96 passes for 1,588 yards, a 16.5 average and eight touchdowns in 2015. He finished the season first nationally for receiving yards (1,588) and receiving yards per game (122.2 ypg) and eight for receptions per game (7.4 rpg).
The 6'4" Garrett, from Daingerfield High School in Daingerfield, Texas, was a unanimous first-team American Athletic Conference selection this season. He was also named to Phil Steele's College Football post-season All-America fourth team and was selected to the SI.com honorable mention All-America team.
Garrett had seven 100+ receiving games this year, including two games with over 200 yards. He had a career-best 268 yards and three TDs on 14 receptions against #17 Memphis, and totaled 216 yards and one TD on 10 catches in Tulsa's 45-34 win over Tulane.
He also had 189 yards receiving and one touchdown on 14 receptions against #16 Oklahoma earlier in the season. Garrett completed his career by catching eight passes for 137 yards with a 36-yard touchdown in the 105 Camping World Independence Bowl, as Tulsa fell 55-52 to Virginia Tech of the ACC.
Garrett is the 20th Tulsa player in school history to play in the East-West Shrine Game. The last Tulsa player to play in the East-West Shrine game was Paul Smith in 2007.
Created by the Shriners in 1925, the East-West Shrine Game was the nation's first college all-star football game. The game is driven by the desire to support Shriners Hospitals for Children in its mission to help children in need of expert medical care. More than 1 million children have benefited from Shriners Hospitals' unique way of providing hope and healing, regardless of the families' ability to pay for services.
