Collegiate 4+ and Lightweight 2x Earn Gold Medals at Head of the Oklahoma

The Tulsa Collegiate 4+ 'A' and Lightweight 2x both turned in gold medal finishes, while the Collegiate 8+ 'A' captured a bronze medal in the first day of competition at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta on the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City. 
 
Lindsey Smith, Jennifer Casson, Maria Gearing, Hannah Vissers and Colleen Giesbrecht raced the Collegiate 4+ 'A' to a gold medal finish with a time of 15:48.22, more than five seconds ahead of the Oklahoma 'B' boat in second place.  TU's 'B' boat was fifth, while the 'C' boat finished eighth, the 'D' boat was in 10th place and the 'E' boat was 11th.
 
Audrey Brown and Lindsay Crute turned in a top time of 17:09.64 in the Lightweight 2x, finishing ahead of Oklahoma City and Wichita State in second- and third-place, respectively.
 
The Golden Hurricane's Collegiate 8+ 'A' posted a time of 14:15.49 for third place, while the TU 'B' boat was sixth in a time of 14:40.92.  In the Collegiate 8+ Night Sprint Grand Final, the TU 'A' boat posted a second-place time of 1:30.92, while the Hurricane 'B' boat was fifth with a time of 1:38.04.
 
Tulsa will continue racing in the Head of the Oklahoma tomorrow in the Open 2-, Open 4+ and Open 4x events.
