Tulsa Men's Tennis Earns Two Wins at Saint Francis All American

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Men's Tennis team earned two wins at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All American as Daniel Santos and Okkie Kellerman both took their first matches on the afternoon.
 
Santos battled back against Lasse Muscheites of North Florida in his opening match after falling down 0-2 early in the first set. Santos responded and broke Muscheites serve to take a 5-4 lead in the set with a smash winner down the left side. An ace during his next service game helped secure a 6-4 win in the set. Santos went on to win the next set in a highly contested battle, 7-6 (2).
 
Santos took on fourth-seeded South Florida's Alberto Barroso-Campos in his next match, battling throughout in a three-set defeat. Santos broke Barroso-Campos' serve for the first time in the opening set down 3-5, rallying to win the next three sets as he took a 6-5 lead on a forehand winner on break point before taking the set 7-5. Santos would drop the next set 2-6 before falling in the third, 4-6.
 
Kellerman took on Louisiana-Lafayette's Coleman Wahlborg in his first match of the day as both players held serve through the first seven points before Kellerman broke and took a 5-3 advantage in the first set on his way to taking it 6-3. Kellerman dropped the next set 3-6 before battling back to take the match with a 6-3 win in the third set. Kellerman battled Dylan King of Yale in his next match, but could not take a set as he fell 6-2, 6-1.  
 
Senior Chase Gordon battled back in his opening match against Louisiana-Lafayette's Vlad Kramarov after dropping the first set, but ultimately fell 7-5, 7-6 (2). Junior Mitchell Pritchard dropped his opening match to Parker McGuiness of Utah 6-3, 6-1. Gordon and Pritchard will continue play in the pre-qualifying consolation bracket tomorrow, both beginning matches at 2:30 p.m.
