
Tulsa Men's Tennis Wraps Up Qualifying Play at Saint Francis All American

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Men's Tennis team wrapped up qualifying play at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All American on Tuesday afternoon, playing in three matches at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Or Ram-Harel and Majed Kilani will represent the Hurricane in the main singles draw when play resumes in the morning on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Sophomore Dominic Bechard took on Wake Forest's Christian Seraphim in the second round of qualifiers on Tuesday morning, dropping the first set 6-1. Bechard responded with strong play in the second set, holding serve with a forehand winner down the left side before breaking Seraphim's serve to go ahead 3-1. Bechard only needed one break point in the eighth and final game of the second set to come out with a 6-2 win before eventually falling in the third 6-0.
Freshman Jarod Hing and sophomore Francois Kellerman both played their final qualifying consolation matches at 11 a.m. on the main courts at the Case Tennis Center. Hing fell behind early to No. 83 ranked Alex Sendegeya, dropping the first set 6-2 before holding serve up until the ninth game in the second set. Hing led Sendegeya 4-3, but could not hold on as he dropped the set 6-4.
Kellerman fell in the first set to USC's Riley Smith 6-4, but responded by taking a 3-2 advantage in the second set. Smith would break Kellerman's next two serves as he wound up taking the set and match, 6-3.
Bechard and Kellerman will resume play at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All American on Thursday, Oct. 6 when they begin main doubles draw play in the afternoon.
