
Tulsa Men's Tennis Concludes Play at Saint Francis All American Saturday

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Men's Tennis team concluded play at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All American on Saturday afternoon in the consolation bracket with two matches against ranked opponents.
No. 112-ranked sophomore Majed Kilani fell in three sets to California's No. 17-ranked fourth-qualifier Andre Goransson in the round of 16 consolation bracket 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Kilani responded well to having his serve broken twice in the first set, breaking back in the fourth game to even the set at 2-2 before taking advantage of a Goransson double fault go to ahead 5-3. Kilani would break Goransson's serve once again in the final game of the set. After dropping the second set, Kilani won a crucial point on deuce to hold serve in the second before eventually having it broken in his next serve and again in the seventh.
Dominic Bechard and Francois Kellerman took on the No. 23-ranked duo of Tom Fawcett and David Wilcyznski from Stanford in doubles consolation quarterfinals in the afternoon, but fell in straight sets to the Cardinal 7-5, 6-3.
Play at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All American will continue tomorrow while the tournament will conclude with the finals on Monday.
Tulsa will return to the court on Oct. 13 as Or Ram-Harel represents the Hurricane in the Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif. before TU begins play at the ITA Regionals Oct. 20-24 in Stillwater, Okla.
