
Men's Basketball Opens Exhibition Play vs. Oklahoma Christian

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa basketball team will take on Oklahoma Christian at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in the first of two exhibition games to begin the 2016-17 season.
Tulsa will debut its new-look roster in game action for the first time on Wednesday. The Golden Hurricane, in its third year under the direction of head coach Frank Haith, welcomed 10 newcomers and five players from last year's roster, including three who have played in a game at TU.
The game will be broadcast on Big Country 99.5 FM and the Golden Hurricane Radio Network. Season tickets, which start as low as $210, will be available for purchase at the game. Six-game Weekender packages are also available for purchase.
Senior guard Pat Birt is the team's leading returning scorer, averaging 12.0 points per game and tallying a team-high 78 3-pointers last year. Junior forward TK Edogi returns to the court after a redshirt season, senior guard Corey Haith and sophomore guard Sterling Taplin are back for the Hurricane. Junior forward Junior Etou, a transfer from Rutgers, will get his first taste of playing in the Reynolds Center after sitting out last season.
Junior guards Corey Henderson Jr. and Jaleel Wheeler and sophomore forward Geno Artison joined the Hurricane from the junior college ranks. The incoming class includes five freshmen: forwards Martins Igbanu and Will Magnay, and guards Travis Atson, Joseph Battle and Lawson Korita. Sophomore Alex Foree joined the roster this year, while sophomore guard Curran Scott will sit out this season after transferring from Charlotte.
Following Wednesday's contest, the Golden Hurricane will play an exhibition game against Northeastern State on Monday, Nov. 7. The season officially begins on Friday, Nov. 11 against Jacksonville State at the Reynolds Center.
