Tulsa’s Rachel Thun Named The American Midfielder of the Year

Tulsa's Rachel Thun was named as the American Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year, while Thun and Tana Dake were tabbed to the all-conference teams, and Anna Williams was selected to the All-Rookie Team.

Thun, a junior midfielder from Oklahoma City, Okla., also picked up First Team All-Conference accolades, an honor she has earned all three seasons. She had team-bests of 12 goals, nine assists and 33 points on the year. Thun took a team-high 52 shots, 34 of which were on goal, and had three game winners.

A junior midfielder from Claremore, Okla., Dake was tabbed to the Second Team All-Conference for the second-straight year. She finished second for TU in assists (7), points (11), shots (40), and shots on goal (17), while also recording two goals.

Williams, a forward from Kent, England, had four goals, the second-most for a Golden Hurricane player this season. She also registered two assists to finish third in the TU point total on the year with 10. Williams had 15 shots, 11 of which were on goal, for a .733 shots-on-goal percentage, the highest for the program this season when a player attempted more than 10 shots.
