TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa men's basketball team travels to Wichita, Kan., Wednesday for the 126th edition of its rivalry against Wichita State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Charles Koch Arena.
 
The game will be broadcast ESPN3.com and Big Country 99.5 FM/Golden Hurricane Radio Network.
 
Tulsa's series against Wichita State is its longest-running rivalry. The Shockers lead the series, 64-61, and the Golden Hurricane claimed a 77-67 win last season in Tulsa.

The Series
This is the 126th meeting between Tulsa and Wichita State. Wichita State leads the series, 64-61. It is the longest-running series in TU history, in terms of games played. The Golden Hurricane won last season, 77-67, in Tulsa when WSU was ranked ninth in the country. The Shockers won seven in a row between 2003-14, including five from 2010-14. Prior to that streak by WSU, the Golden Hurricane won 13 consecutive games in the series between 1993-2002. The schools were members of the Missouri Valley Conference together from 1945-46 until 1995-96. The first games between TU and WSU were played in the 1930-31 season, with each team winning the road game.
 
Quick Hits
• Seven players made their debut for the Golden Hurricane in the season opener. Newcomers accounted for 56 of Tulsa's 73 points.
• Junior forward Junior Etou led the Golden Hurricane in the opener with a double-double, putting up 20 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Corey Henderson Jr. scored 15 points, and freshman forward Martins Igbanu tallied 10 points and nine boards.
• Tulsa is playing its 106th season of basketball in 2016-17.
• Tulsa Head Coach Frank Haith is in his third season at Tulsa, and has led the Hurricane to 20 wins and a postseason appearance in each season.
• Tulsa features three players on its roster that have appeared in a game at TU – Pat Birt, TK Edogi and Sterling Taplin.
• Tulsa has 10 newcomers to its roster, including two juniors, one sophomore and five freshmen.
• Tulsa is in its third season as a member of the American Athletic Conference.
• The Tulsa schedule features up to 10 opponents that played in the NCAA or NIT tournaments in 2016, six of which participated in the NCAA Tournament. (includes potential opponents in the Diamond Head Classic)
• In two seasons as a member of The American, TU finished second and tied for third place in the regular season, respectively.
• For the third straight year, all of Tulsa's conference games and non-conference home games will be televised on an ESPN network or CBS Sports Network.
• Tulsa is playing its 19th season in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Reynolds Center opened December 1998, and TU has posted a 216-65 record in the building, including a 99-27 non-conference mark.
• In two seasons under Frank Haith, the Hurricane has held 54 of 66 opponents under 50 percent from the field.
