
Tulsa Volleyball Inks Five to 2017 Recruiting Class

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Volleyball team and Head Coach Ryan Wills announced the signings of five preps to the 2017 recruiting class on Tuesday morning.
"This class is an extremely large class for volleyball," said Tulsa Head Coach Ryan Wills. "We didn't necessarily want it to be this many athletes but this group of young women were too special not to bring them into our program. They will obviously be a big part of our success over the next four years. They love playing volleyball, competing, and will work hard to get better. I am excited to see their development over time. They have a chance to be a special group."
Callie Cook (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) racked up 4.90 kills per set as a senior for a total of 592 while adding 67 total blocks and 280 digs for the Mules. A three-year letterwinner at Alamo Heights High School, Cook totaled 1,218 kills in her career. As a junior, Cook was named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A All-State team while being named first-team all-district and most valuable player of the district and area.
Alli Evans (Edmond, Okla./Edmond Memorial) helped lead the Bulldogs to a Class 6A Oklahoma State Championship in her senior season on her way to being named Most Valuable Player of the tournament while guiding Edmond Memorial to a No. 22-ranking in the nation according to MaxPreps. As a senior, Evans recorded 350 kills with 433 digs and was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Team and Oklahoma 6A All-State while being named the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year. A two-time team captain, Evans helped guide Edmond Memorial to a runner-up finish at the 2014 Oklahoma State Tournament on her way to being named to the all-tournament team. Evans was named to the AAU Volleyball National All-Tournament Team after a runner-up finish in 2015.
Maggie Hembree (Jenks, Okla./Jenks) was named first-team all-conference while helping guide Jenks to the semifinals of the Oklahoma Class 6A Volleyball State Tournament. During her senior campaign, Hembree tallied 364 kills on a.323 hitting-percentage while chipping in 86 total blocks and 46 service aces. As a junior, Hembree totaled 234 kills on an Oklahoma Class 6A-best .352 hitting-percentage with 65 blocks and 34 service aces as she was named the Jenks Offensive Most Valuable Player. In club play, Hembree was part of two USA Volleyball Junior National Qualifying teams.
Emily Hubbard (San Diego, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) helped lead the Eagles to a San Diego Section Open Division Championship as a senior, recording 287 kills on a .369 hitting-percentage while adding 142 digs and 45 service aces on her way to being named to the Coastal League All-Conference Team. A two-time Fall Classic All-Tournament Team member, Hubbard was named the Most Valuable Player as a junior. Hubbard earned letters four years on the varsity squad, tallying 740 career kills, 388 digs, 63 blocks, and 72 service aces.
Lindsey Ledyard (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) has tallied 958 assists as a senior at Cedar Park High School and added 261 digs as she was named to PrepVolleyball.com's All-American Watch List prior to the season. A three-time All-Central Texas setter and four-year letterwinner for the Wolfpack, Ledyard earned all-state and all-district nods as a Junior as she dished out 1,238 assists and was all-state honorable mention as a sophomore with 1,280. In club play in 2015, Ledyard won the Most Valuable Player Award of the 16-American Division at the 2015 Junior National Championships. After her freshman campaign, Ledyard was named to PrepVolleyball.com's National Freshman of the Year Finalist List.
