Tulsa Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season at Red and Blue Challenge

DALLAS, Texas – The University of Tulsa Women's Tennis team rounded out play at the Red and Blue Challenge on Sunday afternoon, picking up 13 wins in singles play while posting a 7-2 mark in doubles play.
Martina Okalova and Marcelina Cichon both picked up straight set wins in singles play, defeating a pair of players from Wyoming in Tessa van der Ploeg 6-1, 6-3 and Miranda Talbert 6-2, 6-1.
After opening the weekend with six straight wins in doubles play, the Hurricane dropped two matches on the final day of the invitational. Vera Ploner and Martha Matoula wrapped up the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record as they defeated Wyoming's Dorottya Jonas and Imogen Clews 7-5.
The weekend marked the final Fall tournament for the Hurricane, who will begin their Winter/Spring season on January 14 against Arkansas Pine Bluff at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
