
Tulsa Volleyball Begins Four-Match Home Stand Against USF and UCF

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Volleyball team will wrap up American Athletic Conference home play with a four-match home stand, beginning with a matchup against USF tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. before finishing play this weekend against UCF on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Hurricane (17-9 overall, 6-8 The American) head into play this weekend on a four-match winning streak dating back to Oct. 28. TU picked up road wins in a sweep over East Carolina on Friday before defeating then first-place Cincinnati in four sets on Saturday. Erica Bohannon led the way in the win over the Bearcats, racking up a season-high 24 kills while Brooke Berryhill pitched in 20 digs on her way to being named The American Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this year.
USF currently sits one spot ahead of the Hurricane at fifth in The American standings, but head into the weekend on a three-match losing streak. In their last meeting this season, Tulsa tallied one more kill than the Bulls but fell in four sets on the road.
Tulsa owns an 11-5 series lead over UCF dating back to 2005 and have split each of their last season series with the Knights. UCF heads into the eighth weekend of conference play in fourth place and are the lone team in the conference to have reached the 20 wins mark so far this season. Reigning conference offensive player of the week Jale Hervey leads the Knights with 4.44 kills per set this season while hitting .265.
The Hurricane will remain at the Reynolds Center for play next weekend as they wrap up their conference home season against SMU on Wednesday, Nov. 16 before hosting senior night against Memphis on Nov. 18.

RATING PERCENTAGE INDEX (RPI)...
Tulsa continued their climb up the RPI rankings again this week, rising seven spots from 74 up to 67 in the latest poll. Since their four-match winning streak began, the Hurricane have jumped 12 spots in the poll and currently rank fifth among teams in The American.
WEEKLY AWARDS...
Two Hurricane seniors were recognized by the American Athletic Conference after helping TU go unbeaten this weekend as Brooke Berryhill was named Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season while Erica Bohannon received an honor roll nod. Berryhill averaged 4.71 digs per set in two matches over the weekend, including 20 in a win over then first-place Cincinnati. Bohannon chipped in a season-high 24 kills in the win over the Bearcats, hitting a match-best .321.

The Hurricane are in the midst of a four-match winning streak dating back to Oct. 28. During the span, TU has held their opponents to a .140 hitting-percentage while hitting .200. Erica Bohannon leads the way with .479 kills per set on a .274 percentage during the span while Trinity Alualu has added 2.21. Brooke Berryhill has averaged 20 digs per match for 5.71 per set while Ashton Anderson pitches in 6.79 assists per frame.
