Tulsa’s No. 31-Ranked Men’s Tennis Defeated No. 64-Ranked Arkansas, 6-1, Friday Night

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated No. 64-ranked Arkansas in a  6-1 decision Friday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The No. 31-ranked Golden Hurricane won all three doubles matches, and five out of the six singles matches against the Razorbacks.  
 
In doubles play, Matthew Kirby and Dylan McCloskey defeated Mike Redlicki and Giammarco Micolani in a 6-4 decision in the first flight. In the second flight Carlos Bautista and Juan Matias Gonzalez took down Adam Sanjurjo and Jose Salazar in a 7-5 decision. Or Ram-Harel and Dominc Bechard defeated Santiago Munoz and Johan Den Toom in a 7-5 in the third flight to give the TU a 1-0 match lead going into singles play.
 
To begin singles play, Dylan McCloskey dropped the third flight to Jose Salazar in a 6-1, 6-2 decision. Majed Kilani was second to finish singles play defeating Adam Sanjurjo, 6-4, 6-2, in the fifth flight. Carlos Bautista was third to finish play defeating Giammarco Micolani, 6-3, 6-2, in the second flight giving the Hurricane a 3-1 match advantage. Juan Matias Gonzalez clinched the Tulsa victory defeating Santiago Munoz, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, in the fourth flight. Gonzalez is 5-0 in singles play since dual play has begun, and his five match win streak is the longest on the team. Or Ram-Harel was the fifth to finish play defeating Mike Redlicki, 7-6, 7-6, in the first flight, while Francois Kellerman went on to defeat William Albanese, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, in the sixth and final flight to finish.

The Hurricane returns to the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 19, to take on Santa Clara at 1:00 p.m., before facing No. 5-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 5:00 p.m.
