Tulsa Women’s Soccer Team Announces 2016 Spring Schedule

The Tulsa women's soccer team will play a seven-game spring schedule, including four home contests at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, as announced today by head coach Kyle Cussen. All home spring women's soccer games are free admission.

The Golden Hurricane recorded a 13-6-1 overall mark, including the best start in program history with an 8-0 record to begin the season. TU tallied 32 goals from 15 different players, including seven goals from sophomore Rachel Thun and six scores from classmate Christina Holmes. Tulsa ranked second in goals-against average (0.78), fourth in shots (304) and shutouts (9), fifth in assists (28), sixth in goals (32) and points (92), and eighth in saves (73) among the league's best.

Tulsa will begin the season on Saturday, March 5 against both Stephen F. Austin (1:30 pm) and North Texas (4:00 pm). The Ladyjacks had nine wins and captured their fifth-straight regular season Southland Conference Championship, while the Mean Green had an impressive 19-4-1 mark, won the Conference USA Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Championship First Round last fall.

Up next is intrastate rival Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 26, which is set for 6:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium. The Cowgirls tallied a 9-9-2 mark a year ago.

Tulsa will make the trip to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on TCU on Saturday, April 2 (2:00 pm). The Frogs had eight wins last season.

The Hurricane returns home for a pair of games on Saturday, April 9 against Kansas (1:00 pm) and Central Oklahoma (4:00 pm), before hosting Oklahoma on Sunday, April 10 (2:00 pm). The Jayhawks had 10 wins and advanced to the Big 12 Championship game, while UCO had 12 victories and played in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, and the Sooners had 10 wins last season.

TU will conclude the 2016 spring season with the annual Alumni 8v8 Event on Saturday, April 16.
