Tulsa Men’s Track & Field Finishes Second at American Indoor Conference Championships; TU Women Place 10th

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Bryce Robinson and Marc Scott won individual championships to lead The University of Tulsa men's track and field team to a second place finish at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which concluded Monday at the Birmingham Crossplex. The Tulsa women's team finished the conference championships in 10th place.
The TU men collected 147 team points, finishing five points shy of Houston. The women's team totaled 32 points at the meet. The Golden Hurricane collected a total of four event titles over the weekend.
Senior Bryce Robinson won the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 20.78, and it marks his fourth time this season that he has won an event title in the 200-meter dash. Junior Marc Scott won the men's one-mile run with a time of 4:09.52. Scott was named the co-performer of the league meet after finishing runner-up in the 5,000-meter run and the 3,000-meter run, before going on to win the men's one-mile run.
The Tulsa men also recorded four top-five finishes in the 3,000-meter run as Marc Scott finished second, Tim Rackers finished third, Luke Traynor fnished fourth and Benjammin Preisner finished fifth. Tulsa also had two more athletes that finished in the top-ten in that event as Ellis Coon finished seventh, and Adam Roderique finished ninth. The Hurricane picked up 25 team points in that event alone.
Other men's athletes with notable performances were Bailey Stewart who finished runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.62, and Simon Greiner who finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.47
TU's Olivia Lopez finished runner-up in the women's 3,000-meter run, while her teammate Stacie Taylor placed sixth with a time of 9:48.53.
