Tulsa Women’s Tennis Defeats No. 36-Ranked Arkansas, 6-1, Friday Night

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis team defeated No. 36-ranked Arkansas, 6-1, Friday night at the Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Ark. The No. 48-ranked Golden Hurricane improves to 7-1 overall, while the Razorbacks fall to 4-3.
 
In doubles play, flight two was the first to finish as No. 46-ranked Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula lost to Agne Cepelyte and Shannon Hudson in a 6-1 decision. Ksenia Laskutova and Renata Kuricova defeated Makenzie Craft and Flavia Araujo in the first flight, and they were second to finish tying the doubles score at 1-1. Mahitha Dadireddy and Marcelina Cichon clinched the doubles point defeating Ana Oparenovic and Mia Jurasic, 7-6, to take a 1-0 dual lead.
 
The Hurricane dominated singles play winning five out of the six flights. Flights four, five and two were the first to finish play clinching the Tulsa win. TU won flights three and one, but it lost flight six making the final dual score 6-1.

2. Ksenia Laskutova (Tulsa) defeated Ana Oparenovic (Arkansas), 7-5, 3-6, 6-3
3. Rongrong Leenabanchong (Tulsa) defeated Makenzie Craft (Arkansas), 6-7, 6-2, 7-5
4. Marcelia Cichon (Tulsa) defeated Sasha Shkorupeieva (Arkansas), 6-0, 6-1
5. Yelena Nemchen (Tulsa) defeated Flavia Araujo (Arkansas), 6-1, 6-1
6. Mia Jurasic (Arkansas) defeated Renata Kuricova (Tulsa), 6-7, 6-4, 7-6
 
DOUBLES
1. Laskutova/Kuricova (Tulsa) defeated Craft/Araujo (Arkansas), 7-6
2. Cepelyte/Hudson (Arkansas) defeat No. 46 Leenbanchong/Matoula (Tulsa), 6-1
3. Dadireddy/Cichon (Tulsa) defeated Oparenovic/Jurasic (Arkansas), 7-6
