Tulsa opens the home season against an old Western Athletic Conference rival, the San Jose State Spartans, on Saturday, Sept. 3. Tulsa also hosts North Carolina A&T (Sept. 17), and begins American Athletic Conference competition on Friday, October 7 against the SMU Mustangs. The Hurricane also hosts American opponents Tulane (Oct. 22), East Carolina (Nov. 5) and Cincinnati (Nov. 25).

Tulsa will enter its second season under Head Coach Philip Montgomery, who led the Hurricane to six wins and an appearance in the Camping World Independence Bowl a year ago. In 2015, Tulsa averaged 37.2 points, 507 yards and 333 passing yards per game in the first-year of Montgomery's fast-paced offense.
