Tulsa Men’s Track and Field Set to Compete in Stanford Invitational; Seven Athletes Nationally Ranked

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa's No. 15 men's track and field team will travel three athletes to Stanford, Calif., to compete in the Stanford Invitational at the Cobb Track and Angell Field this Friday.

Sophomore Ben Preisner will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while junior Luke Traynor and senior Tim Rackers participate in the 10,000-meter run. Preisner will run at approximately 5:51 p.m. (CT), and Traynor and Rackers will run at approximately 9:42 p.m. (CT).

Tulsa has seven athletes that are nationally ranked in their respective events.

For the men, junior Simon Greiner is ranked No. 27 in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:48.17 that he clocked at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Isaac Dobos is ranked No. 44 with a 9:24.05 time that he ran at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. Sophomore Paul Akintade is ranked No. 46 in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.33m that he recorded at the Tulsa Duels. In the men's hammer throw, senior Alex Lybarger is ranked No. 75 with a distance of 58.29m that he recorded in the Arkansas Spring Invitational.

On behalf of the Tulsa women, freshman Cecilya Johnson is ranked No. 16 in the discus with a distance of 52.38m that was recorded at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. Johnson's distance is a new school record, and she is the No. 1 nationally ranked freshman in the women's discus. Sophomore Alyssa Bolliger is ranked No. 41 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:00.57 that she registered at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Kiara Jones is ranked No. 66 with a time of 1:01.12 that she clocked at the Arkanas Spring Invitational.
