Basketball Previews American Athletic Conference Tournament

Tulsa Head Basketball Coach Frank Haith and First-Team All-Conference selection James Woodard met with the local media Tuesday to preview the American Athletic Conference Championship, which takes place Thursday-Sunday, March 10-13, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
The third-seeded Golden Hurricane (20-10, 12-6 American) opens the tournament against sixth-seeded Memphis (17-14, 8-10 American) in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. CT Friday on ESPNU. The Hurricane is 12-4 in its last 16 games, and has reached 20 wins for the 23rd time in program history. Woodard and fellow senior guard Shaquille Harrison earned all-conference honors on Tuesday. Harrison was a second-team selection for the second year in a row, and Woodard earned first-team honors for the second straight season.
