Tulsa’s 24th-Ranked Men’s Tennis Team Upset 8th-Ranked Oklahoma State, 4-1

Tulsa's 24th-ranked men's tennis team upset eighth-ranked Oklahoma State, 4-1, on Friday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. TU moved to 10-9 on the season, while OSU fell to 16-3 overall.
TU's Dominic Bechard and Dylan McCloskey earned the first win of the night as they topped OSU's Tristan Meraut and Nathan Roper, 6-2, at the No. 2 doubles position. The Cowboys' Lucas Gerch and Jurence Mendoza tied up the doubles point with their 6-3 win over Okkie Kellerman and Matthew Kirby at the No. 1 slot, but Carlos Bautista and Majed Kilani combined for the Golden Hurricane in a 6-4 win over Arjun Kadhe and Mateo Ruiz Naranio at the No. 3 position to give Tulsa a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
Francois Kellerman put TU up 2-0 with a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory over Naranjo in the No. 5 slot, and then Kilani defeated Mendoza, 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 4 position for a 3-0 lead by the Hurricane.
Gerch picked up the only point of the night for Oklahoma State with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 win over Juan Matias Gonzalez in the No. 2 slot, but Daniel Santos clinched the win for Tulsa at the No. 6 slot over Nathan Roper, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.
The No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches did not finish.
Tulsa returns to action on Sunday, April 3 against 23-ranked Tulane in an American Athletic Conference match in New Orleans, La.
