Tulsa’s Varsity 8+ Named American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week

Tulsa's Varsity 8+ was named as the American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week, as announced today by the league office. This was the first weekly award for TU this season.
The Golden Hurricane Varsity 8+ earned a gold medal at the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in West Windsor Township, N.J., last weekend. Maria Gearing, Hannah Vissers, Lauren Vander Hoeven, Ashley Lane, Hannah Emnett, Sam Tober, Emily Farrar, Jennifer Casson and Marcia Vidaurri raced the Eight to a gold medal finish with a time of 6:48.61 in the Grand Final, topping second-place Boston College by nearly three seconds. The TU boat also tallied a top mark in the Semifinal.
