Tulsa Women Golfers Finish 9th at The American Championships

The Tulsa women's golf team placed ninth at the at the 2016 American Women's Golf Championship at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round total of 329 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a score of 974 at the par-72 Ocean Course.
 
Tulsa junior Nadia Majidizadeh, from Tulsa Union High School, finished in 24th place with a 237 total after today's score of 78. Seniors Antonia Von Wnuck and Alex Haun placed 34th and 39th, respectively. Von Wnuck finished with a score of 242, while Haun totaled 246.
 
Freshman Olivia Jackson placed 41st with a total score of 253, and sophomore Nicole Marquardt finished in 42nd place with a 254 score.
 
No. 28 Houston claimed the team title by 10 strokes over second-place East Carolina. The Cougars carded a final round 290 and finished with a total score of 894. East Carolina's Frida Gustafsson Spang won individual medalist honors with a one-under 215 after turning in a five-under par 67 today.
