Tulsa Rowing Moves Stone Cup to Oklahoma City on Saturday

Directions to the Boathouse District

The Tulsa rowing team announced that the Stone Cup against Oklahoma, which was originally scheduled to race on the Verdigris River in Catoosa, Okla., has been moved to the Devon Boathouse in Oklahoma City. The five races are set to begin at 11:30 am on the Oklahoma River on Saturday, April 30.

"We've had a lot of rain in the last few weeks and the US Army Corps of Engineers will be releasing some of the rain from the dams into the Verdigris River," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "The US Army Corps of Engineers has been very supportive of our rowing team and they want to keep us safe so we are moving the race to Oklahoma City to have a good racing environment. And thanks to the Oklahoma Boathouse Foundation and Mike Knopp, we are able to make the switch to the Devon Boathouse. We appreciate the opportunity to take on intrastate rival Oklahoma and we look forward to racing on Saturday."

The two teams will race in five events, including the Varsity 4+, 2^nd Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+, 2^nd Varsity 8+ and 3^rd Varsity 8+.
