No. 18 Tulsa Men’s Tennis Wins Triple-Header Against Arkansas Pine Bluff Tuesday Afternoon

TULSA, Okla. – On Tuesday afternoon, The University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated Arkansas Pine Bluff in a triple-header at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The No. 18 Golden Hurricane won six doubles matches and 11 singles matches on the day to improve to 14-9 overall.

In the first match, Tulsa dominated doubles winning all three matches. Daniel Santos and Chase Gordon (No. 3) defeated Hanif Fudaell and Myles Adams, 6-0, before Dominic Bechard and Majed Kilani (No. 2) clinched the doubles point defeating Simon Lewis and Khusto Ledwaba in a 6-1 decision. The Kellerman brothers, Okkie and Francois (No. 1), went on to defeat Sajid Rahman and Jualon Greig in a 6-1 decision. In singles play, the Hurricane won the first three matches to clinch the match victory and all of them were in just two frames. Francois Kellerman (No. 2) defeated Simon Lewis, 6-1, 6-0, to give TU a 2-0 match lead. Daniel Santos (No. 3) defeated Jualon Greig, 6-3, 6-1, to extend the Hurricane lead to 3-0. Majed Kilani (No. 1) went on to defeat Sajid Rahman, 6-4, 6-4, to clinch the 4-0 Tulsa match victory.

The Hurricane continued its momentum in the second match winning all three doubles matches again. Majed Kilani and Okkie Kellerman (No. 1) blanked Sajid Rahman and Khusto Ledwaba in a 6-0 decision. Daniel Santos and Dominic Bechard (No. 3) blanked Myles Adams and Simon Lewis, 6-0, to clinch the doubles point to give TU a 1-0 match lead going into doubles play. Francois Kellerman and Chase Gordon (No. 2) went on to defeat Jualon Greig and Hanif Fudaell in a 6-4 decision. Tulsa controlled singles play as Okkie Kellerman (No. 4) defeated Hanif Fudaell, 6-0, 6-0, to give Tulsa a 2-0 match lead. Chase Gordon (No. 6) defeated Myles Adams, 6-0, 6-0, to lengthen the Hurricane match lead to 3-0. Tulsa clinched the 4-0 match victory when Dominic Bechard (No. 5) defeated Khusto Ledwaba, 6-2, 6-1.

In the final match of the day there were no doubles matches played. The Hurricane maintained rhythm in the singles play winning five of the six matches played, and the one it didn't win went unfinished. Majed Kilani (No. 2) blanked Simon Lewis, 6-0, 6-0, before Okkie Kellerman (No. 5) defeated Khusto Ledwaba, 6-1, 6-0 to give the Hurricane a 2-0 match lead. Chase Gordon (No. 6) went on to defeat Myles Adams to extend the Tulsa match lead to 3-0. Tulsa clinched the match victory when Dominic Bechard (No. 4) defeated Hanif Fudaell, 6-0, 6-2. Daniel Santos (No. 3) went on to defeat Jualon Greig, 6-1, 6-2, to make the final match score 5-0.

The Hurricane travels to Lubbock, Texas, on Friday, April 8, to take on No. 11 Texas Tech, before it travels to Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Sunday, April 10, to face the New Mexico Lobos.
