Softball Takes on Oklahoma State Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa softball team plays host to in-state rival Oklahoma State at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
 
The Golden Hurricane (26-7, 5-1 American) has won three in a row and 11 of its last 14 games, while the Cowgirls (17-16, 0-4 Big 12) are 5-5 in their last 10 games. Live stats and live video will be available at TulsaHurricane.com. Tickets are $5.
 
Tulsa and Oklahoma State have played 42 times. Oklahoma State leads the series, 26-16. The Golden Hurricane has won five in a row against the Cowgirls, including 3-0 and 2-1 victories last season. TU also won 1-0 at home in 2014 and 5-1 in 2013, and 8-2 at OSU in 2013. The last OSU win was an 8-3 decision in 2012 in Stillwater, and OSU also won 7-4 in Tulsa that season.
 
Junior left fielder Maddie Withee leads Tulsa with 37 RBI, and hits .313 with six doubles and four home runs. Freshman designated player Julia Hollingsworth leads TU with a .406 batting average, and has tallied 22 RBI and 19 runs. Junior third baseman Maggie Withee hits .359 with 34 runs, seven doubles, 18 walks and a .451 on-base percentage. Freshman second baseman Morgan Neal hits .337 with 13 RBI and 21 runs. Sophomore shortstop Shelby Estocado hits .358 with eight home runs, six doubles, 24 RBI and 34 runs, and leads TU with a .674 slugging percentage. Senior first baseman Jocelyn Sheffield has put up 24 RBI, four home runs and four doubles, and hits .296.
 
Senior Caitlin Sill leads Tulsa in the circle with a 1.44 ERA and a 14-1 record. She has allowed a .221 opponent batting average, 20 earned runs and 81 hits in 97.0 innings. Sophomore Emily Watson is 9-6 with a 2.19 ERA, has 117 strikeouts and has allowed 25 earned runs on 61 hits and a .203 opponent batting average in 80.0 innings.
 
Tulsa is hitting .313 with 215 runs, 192 RBI, 47 doubles, 20 home runs, eight triples, a .455 slugging percentage and a .398 on-base percentage. The Hurricane pitchers have posted a combined 2.15 ERA with 191 strikeouts in 208.0 innings, and allowed a .229 opponent batting average, 184 hits and 64 earned runs.
