STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State hit a pair of doubles in the second inning to produce the only run of the game, as Tulsa dropped a 1-0 decision at OSU Tuesday afternoon at Cowgirl Stadium.

The Golden Hurricane (32-19) tallied two hits in the game, including a leadoff double in the seventh by freshman right fielder Julia Hollingsworth. She reached third base on a groundout, but a pair of pop ups ended the game.

The teams totaled just six hits in the pitcher's duel, as the Cowgirls (28-22) tallied four hits and committed one error. Kacy Freeze (16-8) struck out five batters in the complete-game win for OSU.

TU sophomore Emily Watson (11-9) struck out six batters in 4.0 innings, and allowed four hits and no walks. Senior Caitlin Sill entered in relief to start the fifth inning, and tossed 2.0 hitless innings.

"We had good pitching today, but their pitcher was a little bit better. We played solid defense and pitched well, but we didn't get any help offensively."

Oklahoma State scored in the bottom of the second on an RBI double by right fielder Randee O'Donnell. First baseman Darcy Taylor hit a one-out double to left, and scored the run.

Sophomore shortstop Shelby Estocado had Tulsa's only other hit when she beat out an infield single to short in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tulsa's only other baserunner came in the third inning when designated player Kaitlin Allen reached on an error at first base.

Tulsa will host the American Athletic Conference Championship this week, May 12-14, at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The tournament begins on Thursday, with games at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Golden Hurricane opens the tournament against East Carolina at 4 p.m. Thursday.
