Tulsa Track & Field Set for 2016 American Outdoor Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa track and field team travels to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, a four-day event that will be held May 12-15 at the UCF Soccer & Track Complex.
Last year, the Tulsa men finished runner-up in the inaugural American Outdoor Championships, while the women finished in ninth place.
Tulsa enters the weekend with five athletes nationally ranked in their respective events. Junior Marc Scott enters the weekend nationally ranked 26th in the men's 1,500-meter run, and 34th in the 5,000-meter run. Junior Luke Traynor goes into this year's conference championship nationally ranked 24th in the men's 10,000-meter run, and senior Tim Rackers ranks 26th in the same event. Freshman Robert Tully is ranked 51st in the men's 800-meter run, while sophomore Ben Preisner ranks 76th nationally in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
