The Tulsa rowers are set to compete at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, May 14 at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

"It's been a good year for our team and we are excited to put all of our hard work to task at the conference championship," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "The American has some great teams and it's going to be an incredibly tight field this weekend.  Our athletes know that they have a fight on their hands, but I think they are ready.  They've done the work, now it's time to go see it pay off."

The Golden Hurricane will once again look to contend with UCF for the conference title.  TU is the top seed in a pair of races (3rd Varsity 8+, 2nd Varsity 4+) and received the No. 2 seed in the Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 8+.  Tulsa finished as the runner-up in last year's conference championship, only nine points behind UCF in the team standings.

UCF is favored to repeat at The American champion, Tulsa is predicted to finish second and Temple is predicted to finish third.

The entire championship, including awards ceremony, will be live streamed on The American Digital Network.  For complete coverage, visit The American's Championship Central, and follow @American_Rowing and @TulsaRowing on Twitter.
