
Tulsa and USF Meet for The American Softball Championship Saturday

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane and USF Bulls will battle for the American Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Softball Championship today at Tulsa's Collins Family Softball Complex.

The first pitch will be at 11:00 a.m. (CT)as the game will be aired on ESPN.

The #3-seed Hurricane comes into the game with a 34-19 record after having defeated East Carolina 2-0 in the quarterfinals and knocking off #2 -seed UCF, 4-0, Friday in the semifinals.Â

The #1-seed USF Bulls had a first round bye before beating #4-seed Houston in yesterday's semifinal by a 4-1 score. The Bulls are ranked 24th nationally and come into today's game with an overall 44-13 record.

Tulsa is playing in its second straight American Athletic Conference Championship final and its seventh conference tournament final overall. Tulsa fell 1-0 to UCF in last year's championship game.

The Hurricane has won four previous conference tournament titles, including Conference USA Championships in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2014.
