Tulsa Track & Field Concludes 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Tulsa track & field junior Marc Scott set a new conference and stadium record in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:07.02 to conclude the 2016 American Athletic Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which took place at the UCF Track Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The men's team finished in sixth place in the team rankings with 85 points, while the women's squad collected 22 points and registered an 11^th place finish.

On the final day of competition, the men's team picked up an event title and six top-five finishes. The women's team registered two top-five finishes on the fourth day of competition.

Along with Scott's victory in the men's 5,000-meter, the Tulsa men registered three top-five finishes. Senior Tim Rackers finished runner-up clocking a time of 14:09.33, while junior Luke Traynor picked up a fourth place finish with a time of 14:13.95. Sophomore Ben Preisner picked up the men's last top-five finish in the event with a fifth place time of 14:13.96. In the men's 1,500-meter run, sophomore Ellis Coon and freshman Braydon Reenis finished in third and fifth place with time of 3:51.39 and 3:52.25, respectively. The men's last top-five finish of the day came in the men's 4x400-meter relay as freshman Bailey Stewart, junior Austin Hostetler, senior Isaac Sanders and junior Otugo Ananaba clocked a fifth place time of 3:10.93.

For the women, sophomore Kiara Jones clocked a fourth place time of 59.50 in the women's 400-meter hurdles. The women's final top-five finish of the day came in the women's 4x400-meter relay as sophomores Kiara Jones, Candalyn Lyons, Quin Patterson and Cydney Fogle finished runner-up with a time of 3:43.08.
