Tulsa Track and Field Concludes Preliminary Round of 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Yesterday afternoon, The University of Tulsa long distance runner junior Marc Scott clocked a 22nd place time of 14:27.52 in the men's 5,000-meter run as part of the preliminary round of the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held at the Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan.
On Friday, junior Luke Traynor registered a fifth place finish in the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 29:53.17, and his top-12 finish advances him to the finals in Eugene, Ore.
The third and final flight of women's discus finished on Saturday morning after a serve weather delay on Friday night. Freshman Cecilya Johnson was sitting in fifth place in the women's discus throw on Friday night with a distance of 50.77m (166-77), and after the third flight finished Saturday morning set sat in 18th place with her same mark.
