TULSA, Okla. – The 23rd-ranked University of Tulsa men's tennis team will travel to Norman, Okla., for the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships to take on the 38th-ranked Oregon Ducks on Friday, May 13, at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. Match times will be announced at a later time.

"It is always interesting to see where they are going to send you," Tulsa Head Men's Tennis Coach Vince Westbrook said. "There are so many good teams in this part of the country, and you can tell they are trying to mix them up. We have had a pretty good history of playing in Norman, and it's a familiar area it being right down the road. We haven't ever faced Oregon before, but we have played a lot of teams in the Pac-12."

The Golden Hurricane earned an at large bid to the NCAA Tennis Championships, and enters with an overall 17-13 record. Oregon also earned an at large bid, and has posted an 18-7 record.

This will be the first meeting between the Hurricane and the Ducks. The winner of the TU-Oregon match will face the winner of No. 10 Oklahoma and Texas-Arlington in the second round.

Tulsa finished runner-up in 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship, falling to USF, 4-0, in the title match. This marks the 11th-straight season that the Hurricane has reached the NCAA Tournament and the 18th time overall.

Tulsa is ranked among the top-25 nationally for the 10th time this season. Junior Or Ram-Harel enters NCAA Tennis Championships nationally ranked 46th in singles play, while seniors Dylan McCloskey and Matthew Kirby go into the championships ranked 83rd in doubles play. The Hurricane posted a 10-10 record against nationally ranked opponents this season.
