Saana Saarteinen and Or Ram-Harel to Participate in NCAA Singles Championships

TULSA, Okla. –Senior Saana Saarteinen and junior Or Ram-Harel will represent The University of Tulsa men's and women's tennis teams in the NCAA Singles Championships, which will be held on May 25-30 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
 
The singles and doubles competition will follow the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 19-24. All matches will be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker at six-games will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreak will be play in lieu of a third set.
 
The women's side of the bracket had 15 players who automatically qualified for the tournament and 49 who were at-large selections, and the men's side had 14 players who automatically qualified and 50 players who were at-large selections.
 
Saarteinen was one of the 15 players who automatically qualified for the women's singles bracket. Currently, she is nationally ranked 90th in singles play, which is the highest singles rank achieved of any Tulsa women's player this season. She has posted an impressive 23-9 singles record this season, and she helped lead the Golden Hurricane to an overall 21-4 record. Saarteinen also played a major role in leading TU to its second consecutive American Athletic Conference Tennis Championship, where she was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer.  
 
Ram-Harel earned one of the 50 at-large bids to enter the men's singles bracket. He is nationally ranked 46th in singles play, and he has been nationally ranked in the top-50 seven times this year. Ram-Harel was ranked 21st in the nation on September 15, which is the highest singles rank achieved by any Tulsa men's player this season. He has compiled a 9-12 singles record this year, and he is riding a three-match winning streak going into the tournament.
