Tulsa Women’s Basketball Adds Ebony Parker to 2016-17 Signing Class

The University of Tulsa women's basketball Head Coach Matilda Mossman announced today the addition of junior college guard Ebony Parker to the 2016-17 signing class. Parker joins fall signees Renetha Dickson, Kendrian Elliott, Alexis Gaulden and Addison Richards.
Parker, a transfer from Blinn College, averaged 17.5 points her sophomore season, while knocking down an NJCAA Division I record 144 three-point shots. She became one of the best three-point shooters in school history and was named as an NJCAA All-America honorable mention selection. Parker led Blinn to the Region XIV Tournament Championship, the NJCAA Division I National Tournament and helped her team post a final 26-9 record in 2015-16.
"With the departure of two 1,000 point scorers we were looking for a proven scorer. Ebony has proven she can score the basketball. She has experience in post-season and played on a team that won 26 games so she has an expectation of winning," said Mossman. "We are excited to land such a good player this late in the recruiting period."
Prior to attending Blinn College, Parker played her freshman season at Baker (Kan.) University and before that spent her prep career at Klein Forest (Texas) High School. As a freshman at Baker, Parker played in 26 games and averaged 6.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. She also added 22 assists, 12 steals and two blocks on the year.
Parker was a first-team Class 5A all-district performer all four seasons at Klein Forest High School. She scored more than 1,000 points, and averaged 16.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game during her senior campaign.
Parker also played basketball for the DFW and the Houston Fastbreakers' AAU teams.
