
“Tulsa Plays!” Summer Kids Program Set for Tomorrow, June 2

The first of three "Tulsa Plays" Summer Kids programs, presented by The University of Tulsa athletics, Tulsa World, KTUL Channel 8 and Scripps Radio, will take place this Thursday, June 2, 10-12 noon at Veterans Park, located at 1875 South Boulder Avenue in Tulsa.
Tulsa Plays! is open to all kids 12 & under. All children will need to have a waiver signed by a legal guardian or parent to participate.
Kids can participate in running and agility drills, soccer dribbling, passing, and shooting, football passing and catching, volleyball bumping and setting, basketball dribbling and shooting, and softball hitting, all administered and taught by TU student-athletes. There will also be a station where kids can dress like a TU player and receive TU face tattoos.
Each participant will receive an activity card that they can take to each activity station. At each station they will receive a sticker of completion. At the end of the day, kids can redeem their activity card for a Tulsa Plays! gift pack.
The two remaining dates of "Tulsa Plays!" are:
Thursday, July 7 – 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Gardens at LaFortune Park (5202 S. Hudson Ave., take entrance on 51st between Sheridan & Yale)
Thursday, July 21 – 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Hunter Park (5804 East 91st Street)
The "Tulsa Plays!" initiative is a community program designed to encourage kids to play and live a healthy and active lifestyle.
