Tulsa’s Lightweight 2x Finishes Fourth; Four Places Sixth at IRA National Championship

The Tulsa rowers concluded their season as the Lightweight 2x finished fourth and the Lightweight 4+ captured a sixth-place mark at the IRA National Championship on Lake Mercer in Princeton, N.J. on Sunday morning.
"It was nice to break through to this level," Head Coach of Lightweight Rowing Rodney Mott said. "I was really pleased with their effort overall as it was the first time for Tulsa to put two boats in the Grand Finals. These two boats hit a good peak this weekend and had solid rows."

"Finishing sixth in the Four was huge and is a base for where we want to be in the future," Mott said. "The boat also features four freshmen, so it is a good confidence boost moving forward."
Audrey Brown and Lindsay Crute raced their Lightweight 2x to a fourth-place time of 8:12.46 in the Grand Final, falling behind Boston (7:54.40), Wisconsin (7:55.29) and Stanford (8:07.38), while topping Radcliffe (8:13.78) and Princeton (8:40.61).
"To be able to finish second in the Heat and advance straight to the Grand Final in the Double was great," Mott said. "I am very happy with their effort."
