Stones Comes Up Short at Olympic Trials in 3,000m Steeplechase

Former Tulsa track athlete Carl Stones clocked a time of 8:53.68 in the first round of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the U.S. Olympics Trials Monday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Stones finished in 20th place and failed to advance to Friday's event finals.
Stones was a member of the Tulsa track team from 2008-12 and was a 2012 Tulsa All-American.
Bryce Robinson, who graduated this past May from Tulsa, will compete in the first round of the 200 meters on Thursday (July 7) at 5:30 pm (PT).
Tulsa has two current runners participating in the Canadian Championships next week, Thursday-Sunday, July 7-10, in Edmonton, Alberta. Ben Preisner, who will be a junior in the fall at Tulsa, will run on Saturday (July 9) in the Canadian Championship finals of the 3,000m steeplechase for a spot on the Canadian Olympic team.
Braydon Rennie, an upcoming sophomore on the Tulsa track team, will participate in the 1,500-meter first round race on Thursday, July 7. He is looking to qualify for World Juniors in Poland.
