Tulsa returns returning starter Kerwin Thomas (5-10, 170) to the cornerback spot, as well as two more players with starting experience.

"We have good competition at the corner spot," said Tulsa Head Coach Philip Montgomery. "Reggie (Robinson) played really well all spring and this fall camp. Kerwin (Thomas) has had a great camp. Keanu Hill is now able to practice, and I think he has a chance to be a special player. He brings some experience to us."

"Will (Barrow), Johnell (Celistan) and Keidrien (Wadley) have all made plays throughout camp. We have good competition and I think the young guys are really starting to figure it out," added Montgomery. "Contested balls are happening each play and that's what we have to have if you're going to play in the secondary."

Coming out of spring drills, Thomas and red-shirt freshman Reggie Robinson II (6-1, 190) emerged as the starters.

Thomas tallied 60 tackles and had a team-best 12 pass break-ups, while starting all 13 games last year.

Seniors Will Barrow (5-9, 172) and Johnell Celistan (6-2, 197), both who have started at the cornerback position during their careers, as well as red-shirt freshman Keidrien Wadley (6-1, 185) have all pushed the starters during fall drills. In addition, transfer Keanu Hill (6-2, 185), who missed a few early practice sessions, has joined the Golden Hurricane practices and has shown that he will be able to help at the position this year.

In three years, Barrow has started 16 games and has registered 91 tackles and 11 pass break-ups, while Celistan has 32 career tackles and five pass break-ups. Hill was credited with 40 tackles, 10 pass break-ups and two interceptions at Long Beach Community College last year.

True freshman Montray Norris (6-2, 165), who had an interception in Tulsa's first scrimmage on Saturday, adds depth.
