With less than one month remaining before the start of the 2016 football season, Head Coach Philip Montgomery, launched his campaign as the leader of the TU Football Party.  Fans are encouraged to visit votetulsafootball.com and pledge their support for the TU Football Party this season.  Featuring a platform that promises high-octane offense, points, and affordable, family-friendly entertainment, the TU Football Party is looking to establish themselves among the American elite.
Â
Like any great candidate, Coach Montgomery boasts a diversely skilled and experienced cabinet to help him this season. Â Secretary of State, Dane Evans, is coming off a 2015 season where he threw for 4,332 yards and 25 touchdowns. The senior quarterback will rely on the Secretary of the Long Ball, Josh Atkinson, who looks to build off his 1,071-yard season last year. Â Returning from injury is the Secretary of the End Zone, Keevan Lucas, who led the Golden Hurricane with 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2014. Â Secretary of Jukes, D'Angelo Brewer returns as the leading ballcarrier for the Hurricane with 837 yards and six TDs in 2015. Overseeing protection for Evans is Secretary of the Interior, senior offensive lineman Blake Belcher. Â
Â
A strong defense is critical in defending the home turf at HA. Chapman Stadium, and when away from home. Secretary of Defense Trent Martin recorded 104 stops last season, while Secretary of Prevention Matt Linscott tallied 107 tackles and a team-best 16 stops for lost yards and five sacks. Secretary of the Blitz, Craig Suits, a Freshman All-American in 2014, has 128 tackles, 13 TFLs and three forced fumbles in his career.
The back-end of Tulsa's defense is led by Secretary of Homefield Security Jeremy Brady from his safety position and Secretary of Coverage, cornerback Kerwin Thomas. Brady is coming off of a Defensive MVP performance at the 2015 Camping World Independence Bowl, while Thomas was third in the American Athletic Conference last year with 13 total passes defended.
Â
In addition to the action on the field, the TU Football Party is dedicated to providing a superior game day experience. Â With affordable tickets and an exciting game day atmosphere, TU offers an unrivaled entertainment experience in the Tulsa area. Â Fans are encouraged to enjoy the tailgating experience on Hurricane Alley on the picturesque campus of The University of Tulsa, complete with inflatables and kids activities inside and outside the stadium. Â Additionally, the introduction of beer sales to H.A. Chapman Stadium offers fans a complete experience. Â
Â
Fans can pick up the official campaign poster of the TU Football Party for the first time on Saturday, Aug.13, at the TU Football Fan Fest, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
