Tulsa Men's Tennis Defeats Oklahoma State at Silverado Invitational

NAPA, Calif. – The University of Tulsa Men's Tennis team defeated Oklahoma State in both doubles matches on Saturday at the Silverado Collegiate Invitational. The men also participated in four singles matches on the day, winning one against competition from Cal Poly.
 
The duo of Daniel Santos and Francois Kellerman defeated Mathieu Scaglia and Jurence Mendoza in the first match, 8-7 (5). Santos and Kellerman are unbeaten in doubles play through two days of the invitational after winning their match yesterday morning.
 
Simultaneously, Chase Gordon and Mitchell Pritchard won their first doubles match of the weekend against OSU's Tristan Meraut and Nathan Roper, 8-6.
 
Santos found success in singles play as well, defeating Ben Donovan of Cal Poly 6-3, 6-4. The senior has yet to drop a set at the invitational after grabbing his first win of the fall season yesterday in straight sets.
 
Kellerman dropped the first set against Corey Pang 7-5 before bouncing back to win the second set 6-4. The sophomore could not complete the comeback as he fell in the third set, 6-4.
 
Gordon battled Josh Ortlip from the three spot, but dropped both sets 6-2 and 6-0. Pritchard took on Garrett Auproux from the fourth spot, falling in two tightly contested sets 7-6, 7-6.
 
Tulsa will wrap up play at the Silverado Invitational tomorrow afternoon.
